Waterside restaurants on Nolin, Rough River and Taylorsville lakes and the Ohio River from Louisville to Madison, split into places you can reach by boat and places you can only drive to.

Heads up: we're an independent guide. Some links may earn us a referral fee, which never changes what you pay or what we recommend. Conditions change fast on the water, so confirm closures and levels with the official source. How we make money.
Eating on the water is half the fun of a boat day. Here's where you can tie up and walk in, and where you'll need the car. Reachable by boat means the restaurant or the marina it sits on has a dock that boaters use, according to the source we link. Drive only means it's on or above the water, but we couldn't confirm boat access. We don't list hours or prices because they change by season, so call or check the link before you go.
Late October: several marina grills close or cut hours after mid-October and reopen in spring. Moutardier and Taylorsville Lake Marina both list October 31 as the end of their 2026 season, and Nick's Boat Dock posts that it is closed for the season.
